About us
The first 2E water mixers were introduced to the market in February 1974, when the first model, the B40, was launched by the Danish company Ellgaard Equipment. At the time, the company also manufactured a wide range of other food-processing equipment, including whisking machines, tray scraping machines, proofing cabinets and flour silos. The B40 became an immediate success – especially within the bakery and confectionery industry, where it spared bakers from carrying heavy buckets of water.
During the following years, the B41, B42, B43, B44 and B45 models were introduced, all developed further from the original concept. Around 1988, the B47 was launched – the first model featuring the characteristic blue front panel that still defines today’s machines. It was also during this period that the products began expanding internationally through a growing network of distributors. The B47 was later developed into the B47-A, which featured a pre-flush function, as well as the B47-70 and B47-140 – versions with significantly higher capacity. In the early 1990s, the B48 was also introduced, a computerised model designed for integration with external control systems.
Today, the models B14, B25, B25-S and FT50 are manufactured, all of which you can read more about on this website.
During the early 2000s, Ellgaard Equipment changed ownership several times. Production of the water mixers continued, while the company’s other manufacturing operations were gradually discontinued or sold off. For the past few years, the company has been part of the Buhler Group AG.
The Swedish distributor, Lundvalls Bageriservice AB, was founded around 1971 and became one of Ellgaard Equipment’s first international distributors. The first water mixers were delivered to them as early as April 1974, and since then the company has sold thousands of machines to Swedish bakeries, confectioneries and food-processing industries.
It was therefore a natural step for Lundvalls Bageriservice to be asked to take over production when Buhler Group decided to divest the business in 2025. Since 1 October 2025, manufacturing has been carried out by a sister company to Lundvalls, located in Fristad – a small town approximately 60 km from Gothenburg in western Sweden.
